Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you take the next step.

Can I register without a scheduled class?

Yes. Individual registration will place you on a waiting list. Sessions are arranged when the minimum of 10 compatible participants is reached, subject to trainer confirmation.

How many employees are needed for a business booking?

The initial minimum is 10. This is Kevin Clarke’s independent training policy and is not a statutory minimum under section 50.

Can a group include new certification and recertification?

Yes. Each participant will have a separate record and certification type. Recertification applicants will be asked for their existing TIDES certificate number.

Can training take place online?

You can request face-to-face or online training. Delivery arrangements, venue, and meeting details are confirmed by the trainer.

Does choosing a date confirm my booking?

No. Preferred dates are requests. A session becomes confirmed only after the trainer confirms its arrangements.

Do I need to upload identification to make an enquiry?

No. Identification, passport photographs, date of birth, and immigration status are not required for an initial training enquiry. Any later intake will be separately explained and authorised.

Does this website issue Government certificates?

No. This is Kevin Clarke’s independent training website. Official certification is handled according to the relevant Government process and verified requirements.

Is the training fee $50?

Schedule 3 of the supplied 2023 Ordinance lists $50 per person for its specified tourism service categories. Accommodation, golf, spas, casinos, and marinas are not individually included in that fee table; confirm their applicable fees with the Department. Any authorised independent charges will be stated separately. No online payments are collected.

How will I receive my training date?

Once registration and notifications are implemented, you will receive an acknowledgement first. Confirmation of training dates will follow only after the trainer approves arrangements.

Does section 50 require recertification every two years?

Section 50 does not state a recertification interval. The Department’s 22 November 2023 statement describes training and examinations every two years for tourism industry employees. That interval is Department guidance rather than the wording of section 50.
